Se busca: Mack Johnson 2 - Electric bogaloo NORRA ‘26

This is a weird one.

I went to this ‘26 “NORRA’s Baja” (jeeeeesusfuckingchristwhatafuckinguglyname) with big photography expectations, I came back, with… well, expectations.

Once again I had the opportunity to chase Mack Johnson across the entire peninsula, we went with the same plan very similar to last year’s,hop in their chase truck and hope for the best’.

But this time the story I bring back feels… incomplete. This year, the logistics were a little unfortunate so I’m sure I lost many opportunities out there.

So, what i’m gonna do is to show you the mini-stories that I was able to capture. All embroided within the Mack Johnson POV’s.

Either way let me tell you that this rally is soul-lifting… the places you go, the people you meet, the light you see. Road trippin’ across the peninsula should clasify as a drug, the good kind ones.

I reccomend you to go grab a drink, Mezcal preferred. Salud.

The protagonists this year wasn’t only Mack’s but his parnter-in-business and suspected lover Ramon Castro. The romantic adventure was my own to capture.

The weapon of choice #305 driven originally by Ivan Stewart back in the day.

I would change the entire industry to let the vintage live forever…

Day 0 - Tech | Ensenada

A group of people from the other side of the world. A Triumph vintange bike purchased 2 weeks prior the event. A first time in Baja.

I never saw them again after contingency.

Stage 1 - Ramon’s shop | Ensenada

Stage 1 - Km 77 | Ensenada

Stage 1 - Valle de la Trinidad

Stage 1 - San Felipe

Mack heard about a well designed jump at the start of the stage.

Mack sent it because of reasons.
Mack almost broke his back and certainly broke both rear shocks.
The jump was well designed… but for trophy trucks.

Stage 2 - San Felipe

Stage 2 - Bahia de los Angeles

Stage 3 - Bahia de los Angeles

Stage 3 - Villa Jesus Maria

Stage 3 - San Ignacio | Baja California Sur

Stage 4 - San Ignacio

Stage 4 - Santa Rosalía

Stage 4 - Loreto

Stage 5 - Ciudad Insurgentes

Stage 5 - La Paz

Stage 6 - Todos Santos

Stage 6 - San Jose del Cabo | Finish line

When I finished the event, still down there in Cabo while reviewing my photos I had a feeling of failure, coming back with barely any action photos felt like sacriledge, but…

Looking back at this collection I feel joy and specially thankful for having the opportunity once more to show how beautiful my very own peninsula is thru’ the desert racing scenario.

Also this was just a training ground for what next year will be, 10 days of rally.

Salud.

El Neto.
